Last night I was thinking about a couple of people I hadn't spoken to in a while. Rather than call or email, I decided it would be nice to surprise them with handwritten notes. I can't remember the last time I got a letter in the mail. It must have been when my girls were at summer camp. Regardless, I still find myself sifting through the pile every afternoon hopeful that among the catalogs and bills there will be a pretty envelope addressed just to me. Ho-hum. Anyway, it felt good to clear space on my desk and put pen to paper. Happy New Year.
