I have a painting of a black horse hanging in my dining room. I guess it could be called folk art. I got it a few years ago from two cute brothers who have an auction business. I helped them with a project and they paid me with the painting. My step father used to tease that it looks like paint-by-numbers art. I don't care, it makes me happy. It's all black with a big worn frame and stands out just right against the light gray walls and with everything else in the room. I love the way black transforms a space, whether it's done in a big way or just a bit here and there.
Designer Daryl Carter's horse reminds me of mine (just a lot bigger).
